As a college freshman on a sports mission trip, I found myself standing at a small kitchen sink in Panama, washing dishes alongside one of the leaders of Rio Missions, Jess Cotton. We scrubbed and chatted and after a while, she shared that Rio Missions faced one overwhelming barrier. They were drowning in the bookkeeping, compliance, and administrative tasks necessary to keep Rio Missions afloat. She yearned to steward the ministry well, but was on the verge of total burnout and worried that if the ministry did not get help they would have to shut down.
Jess had not known, but I was an accounting major! God had clearly orchestrated our meeting, and as she shared her heart for the ministry, everything clicked. The seed was planted. This is what I am called to do and others are, too!
The Lord began revealing the vision for an organization that would enable mission leaders like Jess to multiply their impact by partnering with missional accountants to serve them in their work. This organization would link the two servants as true partners in God’s Kingdom, laboring together to reach the world. Because ministries all around the world experienced this exact same need, the limits of this vision were endless…

Fundraising
Accounting Beyond Borders fundraises approximately 85% of our budget so that our Ministry Partners pay only a fraction of the cost of what a typical CPA firm would charge. In this way, we provide accounting support and financial relief for our Ministry Partners.
Ministry Care
We pray, visit, build community, and pour into the missions of our Ministry Partners. Through these committed relationships, we serve as an extension of their ministries.

We meet our Ministry Partners in critical moments, stepping in to relieve the burden of accounting and walk alongside them as true partners in ministry. Our model is a life-giving alternative to other solutions that impose high rates and don’t fulfill the deep, relational need that is at the core of our work. We are mission focused and relationship driven.
